Border Patrol Agent Kills Illegal Immigrant...

...Mexico protests.

Of course, if there had been a fence or wall in place, the illegal immigrant would not have been north of the border. If the Mexican government was truly concerned about the well-being of its illegal hordes crossing the border, it would support the construction of a border fence. The agent was doing his job and took what appears to be the appropriate action. It is tragic that so many Mexicans and other Latin Americans are so desperate to improve their situation that they are willing to risk the dangers of crossing Mexico's northern desert but it must be remembered that this individual was killed while in commission of a crime. If the U.S. and Mexican governments were willing to take appropriate measures to prevent that crime, incidents such as this would not happen. Meanwhile the U.S. government will only support half-measures and agents such as this one are vilified and harassed.
